The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Fire Department is currently hosting a capacity-building exercise for its members, which runs until 24th December.
Mr. Christopher Sampson, representative from IRP Fire and Safety Limited out of Trinidad and Tobago, is in the state conducting a training program with the local firefighters.
Mr. Sampson said that the training program is focused on a number of key areas to ensure that local firefighters are prepared for any eventuality, especially with the coming on-stream of the Argyle International Airport.
He noted that this country has invested in the latest firefighting equipment and he is here to train the firefighters to use the equipment. He also said that compared to what we have now, it is an extremely big step forward.
