A HIGH WIND WARNING was issued for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from 10:00 a.m today, Wednesday 18th October, until 8:00 a.m Sunday 22nd October, 2017.

Key notes:
* WIND... Strong easterly winds continue to affect the island from early this morning.
Sustained wind speeds of 25 to 39 mph or 40 to 63 km/h are already occurring, with gusts of 55 mph or 89 km/h.

* TIMING ... Winds will continue to be strong this morning, with some weakening fluctuations over the next few days.
Winds will ease early Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS ...Winds of this magnitude can cause isolated power outages and falling tree branches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Residents are urged to be vigilant against falling trees limbs and loose outdoor objects or light-weight furniture during this warning period.

A small Craft warning remains in effect for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines until 8:00 a.m Sunday 22nd October.

A small craft warning means in this case that seas equal to or greater than 3m (10ft) and/or mean wind- speeds of 25 to 33 knots (28 to 60 mph) will affect the marine area.
