November 5th was commemorated all around the world, as “World Tsunami Awareness Day” (WTAD). It was done for the first time to raise public awareness of the deadly threat posed by tunamis, and to share innovative approaches to reducing risks.

Trough System Affecting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

According to an update received from the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Office at 9:30 a.m. today, Wednesday 2nd November, a trough system will continue to generate unstable conditions across the northern and central portions of the island chain, including Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

NEMO Hosts Caribbean Dewetra Platform Workshop

On Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th October, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), in collaboration with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society, the French Red Cross and the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), will host a training workshop on how to use the Caribbean Dewetra Platform, which is a web-based Geographic Information System Tool.
