The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) will join the rest of the region this week in participating in the annual “CARIBE WAVE/Lantex 16 Simulation Exercise.

A release from NEMO said that it will host a one-day orientation exercise to test the Draft Tsunami Warning Protocols for St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Crisis Communication Plan and Disaster Contingency Plan for the Ministry of Tourism, during the “Caribbean Tsunami Warning Exercise”

NEMO said the workshop will provide an opportunity for all First Responder organizations to drill and practice their Standard Operating Procedures for a tsunami.

It will also provide the opportunity for the key stakeholders within the Ministry of Tourism to practice their Standard Operating Procedures for Tsunami response.

The Radio Data System will also be tested, as part of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Emergency Warning System during the ‘Caribbean Tsunami Warning Exercise’

The Workshop will commence at 8:30 a.m. this Thursday, March 16th, at NEMO’s Conference Room.
