The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is asking for the public’s assistance in looking out for counterfeit U.S. currencies this carnival season.

Police are asking that businesses, banks and consumers be vigilant as criminals usually takes advantage of the season to use fake currency to buy goods and services.

Police are urging the public to check their notes. Store employees are asked to take their time to look at the note before returning change.

Police say if you are given forged money, get a good physical description of the person who handed it to you and call the Criminal Investigation Department and report the matter.
