Agencies and community emergency response teams involved in the Initial Damage Assessment process, as well as members of the Damage and Needs Assessment sub-committee of the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), are participating in a two-day workshop on Initial Damage Assessment (IDA), which commenced on Tuesday 6th September.

The objectives of the workshop are to train participants to collect, collate, interpret and report damage information, and to prepare persons who are already trained in IDA for the Training for Instructor Course.

The workshop was organised by NEMO, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Office for Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).

The venue for the workshop is NEMO’s conference room at Old Montrose, beginning at 8:30 a.m. each day.
