A trough system moving eastward over the Caribbean Sea is expected to interact with The Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (I.T.C.Z)  today, Monday, 28 th November, 2016, resulting in cloudy to overcast skies, occasional pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and thunderstorms across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

This activity is expected to drift northwards across the Lesser Antilles and then drift southwards across the chain again. Models are also forecasting possible rainfall accumulations of 100 to 150 millimeters {4 to 6 inches} over  Saint Vincent over the next 36 to 48 hours.

Due to the already saturated nature of the soils, Residents in flood prone and areas prone to land slippage should continue to exercise caution and remain on the alert.

A Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean that flooding will occur but that it is possible.
