The Marrriaqua United Friendly Society (BUN PAN) handed over a cheque valued five thousand dollars to the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) towards the relief efforts to assist persons affected by the recent Trough System.

Ms. Margaret Clarke, General Manager of the Marrriaqua Friendly Society (BUN PAN) handed over this cheque to Director (Ag), (NEMO), Michelle Forbes, to assist persons affected by the Trough System which impacted St. Vincent and the Grenadines on November 28th and 29th, 2016.


This System produced heavy showers, resulting in flooding and landslide in several areas, mainly to the North East and North West of mainland St. Vincent and leaving one hundred and eighty six (186) persons in shelters.


The Handing Over Ceremony took place at 8:30 a.m. on Friday 2nd December, 2016, at NEMO’S Conference Room.
