Latest analysis indicates that moisture from the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone continues to affect the islands this afternoon.

Islands like Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad have been experiencing light to heavy showers. It is anticipated that these conditions will affect Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as the day progress. Approximately ½ inch (14mm) is forecast by 2:00 p.m., with possible increase into the night, approximately 18mm.

Further to this, the tropical wave currently analysed at 55W as of 8:00 a.m. this morning, is forecast to begin affecting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines tonight adding further instability. Model guidance indicates moderate to heavy showers approximately 1 inch (25mm) around Saint Vincent and the Grenadines by Wednesday morning. It is on Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, that the most intense showers are forecast with approximately 2 inches of rainfall accumulations on Wednesday evening and a further increase into the night. The environment is favourable for this wave and periods of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms are likely.

It must be noted at this time, that this is the beginning of the rainy season; therefore vigilance must be taken in flood prone areas.

Fresh to occasionally strong breezes forecast to continue with gentle winds to the south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Significant reduction in winds anticipated on Wednesday afternoon, approximately 7km/h. Seas to remain slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking to 2.0m
