The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), is appealing to members of the public to pay close attention to the regular weather bulletins issued by the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services, to always be informed about weather conditions in the country.

This appeal was made by Ms. Michelle Forbes, Acting Director of NEMO, as the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season continues.

Ms. Forbes said that they also started some work on the Grenadine island of Union Island, focusing on Tsunami Hazards, and this will continue during the hurricane season, as they seek to have everyone prepared for all types of disasters.

She said that the authentic source for information relating to natural disasters, is the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services, and that she is encouraging everyone to pay close attention to the information issued by the Met Office at all times.
