According to information generated by the Seismic Research Centre, University of the West Indies, Trinidad, at 5:31 p.m. local time Tuesday, 21st August, 2018, an earthquake occurred at latitude 10.47N and longitude 62.75W or 58.0 km SE of Carúpano, Venezuela, 93.0 km NE of Maturín, Venezuela, 134.0 km SE of Porlamar, Venezuela.

The earthquake was registered on the magnitude scale as 6.8, at a depth of 88 km. The earthquake was reported felt in various places in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

NEMO has not received any report of damage from the earthquake.
