The purpose of this Department is in answer to an important question:  How does the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force intend to provide service to the community in the new century?

This Department provides a proposed direction for the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force to follow.

It must be clearly understood from the beginning, that the coming on stream of this Department does not signal the coming of a particular event, but rather the continuation of a process.  The strength of this Department and its recommendations, comes mainly from the fact that it is not a complete change from the policy of the Police Force, but an extension to our basic philosophy. It is the provision of the highest attainable service in the most effective and efficient manner to the Vincentian society possible.

To achieve this, the Police High Command established this Police Public Relations and Complaints Department on 4th January, 1999.  It is expected to enhance the communication between the Police and the general public.
