An Earthquake occurred Wednesday, 22nd August, at 9:27 a.m. near the Coast of Venezuela. Information generated by the Seismic Research Centre, University of the West Indies, states that the earthquake occurred at Latitude 10.60N and Longitude 62.87W or 41.0 km ESE of Carúpano, Venezuela, 100.0 km NNE of Maturín, Venezuela, 116.0 km SE of Porlamar, Venezuela.

The earthquake was registered on the magnitude scale as 5.9 at a depth of 80 km. The earthquake was reportedly felt in various places in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

NEMO has not received any report of damage from the earthquake.
